So here are some pictures of a door number rotary engraved on 3mm brass. We think you will agree it looks great! The intention was to fill this in black but it looks so good we decided to leave it just engraved.

The world’s oldest engraved object could be an ochre pebble found in South Africa dating back around 100,000 years. Reasearchers believe there are 23 engraved lines in the stone and it is the oldest one found to date. Although I wouldn’t like to guarantee our engraving for that long, it does show that it is a great solution for long term marking of your product.

I read the following article this morning and thought it was incredible! Such dedication in his pursuit of perfection that Graham Short actually tied his arm down to ensure that there were no involuntary movements that ruined his work! Not to mention working through the night so there was less vibration from traffic! Amazing!

Michael Smith Engraving have spent some time this morning designing stainless steel rating plates for one of our customers, which we will laser engrave. These are only 40mm x 50mm and with some of the text being only 1mm high it seems anything really is possible. Due to ever increasing postal prices we have unfortunately decided that it is necessary to start charging for postage and packaging on all orders that are posted rather than collected. There will be a £1.00 charge on all posted orders but if postage costs more than £1.00 then the cost will be the same as on the franking mark, no packaging costs will be added to this.
This has however enabled us to remove the minimum order charge of £10.00 so for most orders it will be more cost effective for you. This will also be with immediate effect, as some of you have already noticed the saving.
Also I wanted to remind everyone that the old email address will be removed altogether shortly and to save delays receiving your orders please update your records so that all orders are sent to info@michaelsmithengraving.co.uk
